Highland Park is an Illinois city, located about 25 miles north of Chicago. Highland Park is home to the popular Ravinia Festival, a pavilion that holds classical, pop and jazz concerts in summertime. The Chicago Symphony Orchestra has played there every year since 1936.
Several movies have used Highland Park for filming including Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Sixteen Candles, and Home Alone. More recently-made movies set in Highland park are Kicking & Screaming and Shattered Memories of Love. On television, the city was used for the show American High.
Some Highland Park-sponsored events are: the Bitter Jester Music Fest, Bike Fair, Festival of Fine Arts, HP Light Up the Night and their fire department’s Pancake Breakfast. In the summer, Highland Park has Food Truck Thursdays where local food and drink samplings can be enjoyed.
