Console Tables

Console tables vary a bit from your dining room or coffee table. Though they can be the same design concept, they typically are used in hallways, entrances, or behind couches. They are known to be slender, but taller. Below are past projects; the options are endless.

Answers to Common Questions

What is a console table?

Console, sofa, entryway table, the varying names for items with similar dimensions and design. These are small, thin tables that fit snuggly to provide a place to hold keys near front doors or add a little something to that hallway and/or seating or a "decor placeholder" behind couches. Bottom line, these pieces offer practical use AND something pretty.

Can I customize size, color, other details?

Yes! You tell us the size. We have a plethora of bases, woods, colors, edge details, top thicknesses, and many other options. With this, we will walk you through the selection process so you can hand pick each detail to create your table!

Do you build one-of-a-kind pieces?

Yes! We've had many projects come to life through inspiration images or sketches. With this, we work closely with you to iron out the specifics and each detail. Contact us directly to begin this process.

What kind of wood do you use for your tables?

We stick to the harder of the hardwoods: hickory, ash, hard maple, walnut, and quarter sawn white oak. Often the color choice will influence the wood species as we select the best wood for the desired color. The stain essentially enhances the natural characteristics of the wood and then we finish it off by applying a clear top coat, providing a very durable surface. The wear occurs on the clear coat vs. surfaces that are prone to chipping, clouding, and wearing poorly in appearance due to soft wood/faux wood/painted-type finish that is often found in most furniture stores.

Do console tables need a cross brace?

The cross brace (bar that runs between the two pedestals) is optional and dependent on style.

Do console tables require an apron?

For the majority of styles, the apron (wood framing under the top) is optional. However, designs such as four leg will need an apron.

Can you do a shelf?

Yes, another element you can choose depending on the overall design, a shelf is something we can add.
